Kim's Art & Soul

Hello
I am a full-time artist who works in mixed media, watercolor, and pen & ink. My framed work is displayed on five continents to date: North America, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Just two more to go! My surface pattern business is just taking off. I love high contrast and black lines; it's like a surprise in every piece of work. Scroll down to learn more.
My Story
Much of my adult life has been spent working the daily grind. Believe it or not, I was a commercial painter, which means I was basically a construction worker with a paint brush. For years I painted stadiums, office parks, schools, and hospitals. At 40, I decided to go to college and graduated with the desirable degrees, but still longed to do art. Fast forward a decade or so: I took the plunge because life is short - and I have never regretted the decision to pursue art.
I'm originally from a small town in Massachusetts where I spent my entire childhood. Today, I am inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, in Oregon. I'm a woman of faith and I love music which plays continuously while I create. My favorite artist is Norman Rockwell because he painted the moments in life that matter. I share my studio with two lovebirds and my naked Sphynx cat.
